Chocolate Garden Cupcakes

This chocolate cupcake is every chocolate lovers dream. it a a super moist and rich cake that can make any child's dream come true!
  • Cake:
  • 2 cups white sugar
  • 1¾ cups all-purpose flour
  • ½ cup unsweetened cocoa powder regular
  • ¼ cup dark cocoa powder
  • 1½ teaspoons baking soda
  • 1½ teaspoons baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 cup milk
  • ½ cup vegetable oil
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 1 cup hot coffee
  • Frosting:
  • 1 cup unsalted butter
  • ½ cup Crisco, unflavored
  • 3 Tbsp, regular unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 3 Tbsp. dark cocoa powder
  • 4 cups powdered sugar
  • 1 tsp. vanilla extract
  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. In a medium bowl, stir together the sugar, flour, cocoa, baking soda, baking powder and salt. Add the eggs, milk, oil and vanilla, mix for 3 minutes with an electric mixer. Stir in the hot coffee by hand. Place 24 cupcake liners in cupcake pan and fill ¾ with cake batter.
  2. Bake for 15-20 minutes in the preheated oven, until a toothpick inserted comes out clean. Cool for completely before frosting.
  3. To make the frosting.
  4. Cream butter and Crisco in a stand mixer until smooth and creamy. Add the powdered sugar ½ a cup at a time, alternating sugar and cocoa. Add vanilla extract. Mix on medium/high, once the mixture is blended, to whip to a creamy texture.
  5. Frost cupcakes and enjoy!
